March 29, 2021

COVId vaccination

Members of the public can now make appointments to get COVID-19 vaccinations at LSU Health New Orleans. Walk-ins are not permitted. Appointments can be made online at https://lsuh.sc/nr?a=2025. First-dose appointments for the Pfizer vaccine are currently available.

The LSU Health New Orleans COVID Vaccination Clinic is a collaboration of the LSU Healthcare Network, the multispecialty practice of LSU Health New Orleans faculty, and the LSU Health New Orleans School of Nursing. Nursing students are gaining valuable clinical experience by giving the shots under faculty supervision. Students from LSU Health’s other five schools are also volunteering.

LSU Health New Orleans recently transitioned from being a Closed Healthcare POD to an Open POD, able to vaccinate anyone age 16 and up. LSU Health New Orleans has given 15,738 vaccinations to date.

“We encourage everyone to be vaccinated,” says Dr. Larry Hollier, Chancellor of LSU Health New Orleans. “These safe and effective vaccines are our way out of the pandemic, and we are pleased to help make them available to our community.”
